Aircraft Wheel Inspection (Robot-based System)
The robot-based EloWheel system represents a sort of high-end system for aircraft wheel inspections. It performs a fully automated testing of all rim sections, i.e. the complete bead-seat area as well as the bore holes located in the hub section. A conductivity measurement allows to detect potential material overheating. The bore holes are localised by use of an additional high-resolution video camera. Just the feeding, clamping and discharging of aircraft wheel rims has to be done manually.
