Weld Inspection of High-Voltage Cable Jackets

High-voltage cable jackets are manufactured of cold-formed plates (axial-welded continuous material). The multi-channel test system is placed closely behind the welding machine. The system allows to detect tiny dot-like defects as well as elongated axial defects, located in the weld. The eddy current raw data are recorded continuously and sent to the master control, together with the inspection results. Detected welding defects will be colour-coded in process by means of a colour marking device.
