It had been planned for a long time, the visit to the ZEPPELIN NDT training facility for aviation training in St. Augustin. There, ZEPPELIN qualifies and certifies for material and quality tests according to requirements such as DIN EN 4179 and NAS 410 in a practical manner and according to product-specific applications.
Now we have carried out the long planned visit and handed over the ELOTEST B340 laboratory instrument to the deputy of the training center Folkert Hemmen as well as lecturer Marcus Stoltenberg.
The reception in the professionally equipped training rooms was very warm and we quickly got into conversation with the lecturers about eddy current. The clear highlight was the tour of the Learjet 60 D-CFAJ, where the ELOTEST B340 laboratory instrument was also handed over.
The Learjet is the ideal training facility for trainees to apply their acquired NDT skills on an aircraft – unique in the field of training facilities. Zeppelin has been using Rohmann ELOTEST M3 with various test probes, reference bodies as well as rotors with rotating probes for practical ET training in the aviation sector for years.
We wish ZEPPELIN and Folkert Hemmen’s team continued success at their location in St. Augustin and many interested participants from Aviation.
